Everyone has their own way of unwinding after a long day, and mine is to pound the skins on my Yamaha DTXplorer electronic drum kit. As you can see from the video, the fold away kit actually fits very nicely in my room in front of the familiar blue couch. Thanks to my riffing mate Michael, right now my favourite song to drum along to is a hard rock oldie but goldie, Paradise City by Guns ‘n’ Roses. It starts off slowly but finishes with a great chaotic musical climax.
I’m sure there’s a few people watching this video that might also be casual musicians. And it does get a little lonely to sit here and play the drums by myself. So I’m reaching out to any game viewers to join me in a virtually constructed garage band version of this song!
So if you play guitar, bass guitar, keyboards or just want to sing and play along with a tambourine, I’d love to get a clip from you of your performance. As you can see, I’m not the most talented drummer but I like to rock out, and I don’t need a perfect note-for-note rendition from you – just use the original Paradise City track as the time keeper, which is what I did on the headphones while playing. (NOTE: I’LL NEED JUST YOUR PERFORMANCE, NOT THE AUDIO OF THE ORIGINAL TRACK.)
I want to make two versions of this – one that is a Brady Bunch style edited Youtube video with all musicians on screen, AND one that can be seen in VR mode, with all the different videos stitched together that can be viewed in a 360 degree video matrix of musical awesomeness.
So if you’re interested, simply post the link to your video in the comments area on this article or on the Youtube video comments area. If you want to keep your performance private, message me through the Ritchie’s Room Youtube channel with the unlisted video.
And… THERE WILL BE PRIZES FOR THE PERFORMANCES SELECTED! More on this soon.
And if you aren’t musically inclined, at least feel free to tell me what you think the band should be called.
Until next time!
Wow Ritchie come along way now playing drums too. Keep it up
